Stand-Up Comedy

A couple of nights ago a bunch of us met at the Bluestone Room, which is tucked away in Durham Lane, for a few drinks after work. It was quiz night and therefore a teeny weeny bit annoying since we weren’t participating (hmm, perhaps we should have organised joining in). The heating was turned up way, way too high, so we all had rosy-red shiny cheeks while drinking our vino’s giving new meaning to the term hot toddy….I reckon this may have been a trick for us to order more drinks…

We then headed up the road to check out the ‘Big Wednesday night’ at the Classic Comedy Club on Queen Street. I like how this night has the same name as Lotto’s Big Wednesday (in fact, I think it’s the same entry price as a Lotto ticket and stand up comedy can be just as disappointing as Lotto when you only get 2 numbers and the bonus)….

I was looking forward to a bit of rib-tickling fun and wasn’t disappointed. Granted it was ‘new material night’ so some jokes went down like a lead balloon, but I reckon seeing 8 comedians across 2.5 hours was great for something different to do mid-week.
As I like to say: Choice!
