10 Years On 0
It’s hard to believe it’s a new decade in a couple of days.
It seems just like yesterday I was enjoying the celebrations of 1999, watching fireworks shoot from the SkyTower, standing in the rain pissed as a fart, but happy. Remember the madness of the Y2K Bug and how everyone turned their computer off at the wall, slightly panic stricken?!
Ah yes, as I sit here at the laptop in the family bach, sounds of Tui’s, cicadas, the dog chasing flies and children screaming with laughter around me, I’m forced to feel a little sentimental and have been replaying memories in my head (yes forced…there’s plenty of time to sit around doing bugger all when on holiday, and I’ve never been one to keep myself entertained with crossword puzzles).
One thing that sticks out is the great people I have met over the past 10 years, some of whom have become like family to me. Sadly nothing lasts forever and some pretty cool people have come and gone too. This blog is dedicated to Marion Dimond. RIP.
I’m looking forward to a new decade and the beginning of a new chapter. May it be full of good times, fond memories and fine wine. Let’s hope the best is yet to come.
Happy New Year!
