The Silly Season
Holy Haka, it’s busy at this time of year aye?
Christmas parties, seasonal catch-up drinks, hangovers, wedding invites, bbqs, summer festivals …crumbs it’s choice.
I’ve had the pleasure of some great dinners out and about Auckland recently including De Fontein, Goode Brothers, Fig & Olive and Mutiara. It’s nice to press pause, relax and spend some quality time with close friends and special people during this silly season and the busy lead up to Christmas.

The Laughing Buddha
Hurray it’s Wednesday which means it’s hump day, and not long to go until the weekend!
A few nights ago my buddy and I went to Sawadee Thai in Ponsonby Road. I was hankering for a good Thai and Sawadee is a bit of a Thai institution. It’s been around for years, and in my opinion still continues to dish up the best Thai in Auckland.

The red shoes
By hokey Auckland, I’m looking forward to the weekend!
Despite the fact that it’s only Wednesday, it’s been a long week (and the weather has been nothing but boring rain) so I’m looking forward to fun times with good company.

A meal with friends
Ok, so I admit it. I don’t go out to dinner as often as I probably could. The majority of my friends are coupled up and like to spend time dining with their significant other, which is perfectly understandable. For me, going out to dinner is often replaced with a quick bite to eat at home (to line the stomach before hitting a few bars), or a dinner party at said couples homes before sharing a cab into town….. However – for the odd girls night out, family celebration, or hot date, the following Auckland restaurants have caught my attention.

Now that's what I'm talkin' 'bout
I love Tapas.
Sometimes when eating out, I just want to order two entrees instead of a main course, and I think this is why Tapas appeals so much – plus after spending many a hot and hazy summer in Spain, I fell in Iove with the concept of grazing over a shared meal, jug of sangria at my elbow.
So I was chuffed when it was agreed earlier in the week, that my friends and I really fancied a meal of Tapas and some beve’s.

Getting down
Wowza. Choice night.
My friends and I had a merry time at The Ponsonby. What used to be the old Post Office is now set up as a Belgian bistro and stands proudly on the corner of St Mary’s Road. Quite a bit of the original decor has remained and comes complete with high ceilings and a charming 1920s feel. continue reading »

Internet Dating 101
I hate to admit it, and you’re not to mention this to anyone…..but I have been giving Internet Dating a go.
I feel like a proper desperate geek, but figure everyone is doing it these days, so I’m just keeping up with the Jones’ really. continue reading »

Watch this space
Hi there, this is my new site! How exciting!
Yes, it’s looking rather blank at the moment, but don’t worry the best is yet to come.
Thanks for swinging-by…..actually, given this is a brand new site no one has probably swung-by, and I am probably writing to myself in a bi-polar manner, but hey, at least I am being polite….
Watch this space for updated blogs, articles on dating, friendships and general single-gal observations, as well as pretty images and photos. Crumbs, it’s gonna be choice.
Until then: Go well, Go Shell
